Power switch pt2?
I have been given a Tiny computer.
Initially I had problems with the power switch being disconnected. I have now fully wired this up (found it on the net).
I now get the LED showing power, but nothing else, even the CD draw doesn't open, no sign of the hard disc spinning, and the monitor remains blank.
I'm now thinking that the power supply may be faulty, though the fan is spinning & power is going to the front LED.
Is there any way that I can check this out?
If I had a spare it would be easy.
If I need a new one I'll need the right connections, what should I be asking for?
If I can get it up and running I will be donating it to a worthy cause.
You could be flying in the dark here. you say you have the power led showing, this must mean power is going round the motherboard, but if that were the case then the cd hdd and other components should be heard to be running. Does the cpu fan spin?
Tiny computers are a bit odd, even though the architecture is industry standard, somethings on the pc are small hence the brand name, by this I mean the case is the smallest , a pygmy could get inside one, the power supplies are much more compact than normal hence you will need to get a power supply ( if faulty) small enough to fit the case. The power supply must be connected to the motherboard with the 20 pin power pug, the molex plugs must be connected to the hdd and cd etc and the front panel connectors connected to the board in order to switch it on.
