Do I need a converter box? Setting my HD antenna up with Samsung 58in - What do I need?
First, I can't find if my tv will need a coverter box or not. It's a Samsung 58 inch tv. It's a PN58B550T2F MODEL. I don't want to pay any cable company for now so I want to set it up for free channels.
I was looking at these 2 antennas. Will they be compatible with my TV? Anybody tried these before? Do I need anything additional beside this antenna?

Any cables, ports, boxes, etc do I need? I'm going to Best Buy or Frys to get these things today because I am tired of watching movies and not regular tv!!
ANOTHER THING: I also have a Yamaha receiver. What cables do I need to buy to hook the antenna to my receiver.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! ... and in case you were wondering, yes I am a girl!
If you have an HDTV, you do not need a converter box.!! Just scan the channels, (look for 'auto-scan' under settings in your menu, or channels) after hooking up the antenna. As for the antenna, I like the TURK better..it has an amplifier... The first one listed is an RCA 'passive' type antenna...not much comparison..(shaped like a square box.) Not very good...If you are not too far from the TV transmitters, not the studios, you should get quite a few signals..(like within 20-25 miles.)
