How to reformat a mac hard drive to work on PC?
I have a slight computer issue. I bought an external harddrive off of craigslist a LaCie mini Hub HD. The problem is the guy I purchased it from has it formatted to work with a mac. When I plug it into my vista or windows 7 pc it will recongize a new device is connected and download the drivers then assumes it is just a USB hub (message pops up saying your device is ready to use. when I click that message it says USB hub). When I go to Disk Management I see the drive there but it will not let me reformat it. The only option it gives me is to "delete volume". Also it has no drive letter. I also can not see it if I am in windows explorer trying to find the drive. Any suggestions?
This is not supposed to happens. This sounds more like a corrupted drive in my opinion. It might also be a driver but this is very doubtful. You try to download a disk utility and try to fix it, or remove the drive from the enclosure and hook it directly to the computer and run the fabricator's disk utilities.
