does anyone know why my laptopn wont recognize any device i plug into a 7 port dlink hub?
I bought a 7 Port Usb Hub, that when I connect to my desktop it works perfectly fine.
I can plug all my 3 flashfdrives at once (it has its own power adapter)
But when I go to plug the hub to my laptop....
Windows dtects it and all the ligths come on in the HUB, but when I plug anything to it, nothing gets recognized?
My printer - NOPE
Flash Drives -- NOPE
I talked toHP support they said FLASH the BIOS.
I did.
Still have same problem.
Can anyone help here?
Stupid question # 1:
Is the laptop plugged in? Often connectivity is reduced on external ports if its not plugged in...
IS it a DELL laptop? (their USB ports are notoriously poor quality in my experience) I imagine its an HP based on your talking to HP support;l but just checking
PLug it into a 3rd machine, another laptop preferably and see if it works. If it does, prob your laptop; if not- the hub may not work correctly with laptops.
Also, check which machines are USB 2 and which are just USB. Shouldn't make a difference, but never know.
