Do I need an external USB Hub?
Hey there,
I have a HP laptop and I use a usb broadband modem. I have had a few probems connecting this as the usb ports on my laptop are very worn. Am I able to buy an external usb hub and avoid using the port on the back of my laptop or do I need to replace the internal ones? Its annoying using these ports as everytime i knock the modem cable it disconnects!

no it stays connected correctly but its very sensitive. if i knock the cable then the modem disconnects and yes the ports are very worn so I dont wanna use them again as its annoying. I guess i would need to replace the internal ones then
USB is poor at best, Contact your Internet Service Provider and have them exchange the USB to an ETHERNET like most computers and users have.
I have found that many furnish USB because it is cheaper for them. Ethernet connections are normally the standard connections used by all computers and providers.
