If not can you plug a network printer directly into a computer, eg: rj45 cable from the printer to the computer? I would need to use a usb to rj45 socket converter to do this, or install a network card.
Will i be able to share this over a network connected in this fashion?
I need to share the printer and the network drive to the other computers on the VLAN
If the printer directly supports ethernet this will work. If not you will need a PRINT SERVER so you can supply an IP to the printer. Printers without network support don't use IP addressing!
