what type of cable do i need for connect my laptop to a external monitor?
i just purchase a belkin pc monitor replacement/switchbox cable, when i connect to my tv from my labtop it readed "unsupported signal, check your device output".. who can help me with this.. i have a sony brevia 40' and a averatec lab top.
If everything is connected from your Tv to your Converter box to your laPtop. I would say you have the right cables. Chances are your laPtop just needs to be set up for external video. There is probable a key on your laPtop that looks like a monitor. Press the function key (fn) or whatever key corresponds to the same color as the little monitor on your laPtop. This should switch the output of your laPtop. Otherwise go to display prefs and modify it to work.
